I would like to raise awareness of the great work of Dr Nadine Hamilton through her organisation Love Your Pet Love Your Vet.
Dr Hamilton is a psychologist, who spent over six years researching veterinarian well -being at doctoral level. Her research investigated why the rate of suicide in the vet profession is so high (roughly four-times the national average).
Dr Hamilton also developed an evidence-based intervention program to help reduce anxiety, stress, and depression in veterinarian participants.
Dr Hamilton has since published her book "Coping with Stress and Burnout as a Veterinarian" and also commenced new doctoral research (PhD) to extend her research into veterinary well being. She works exclusively with the veterinary profession.
